After a year off, New Balance was excited to get back to the track for 2021's New Balance Nationals. Working with MKG and The Youth, I art directed a series of videos leading up to the meet, featuring a message to high school runners from some of New Balance's Olympic athletes – "no matter who you are or where you’re from, we can all end up on the same starting line."
Pandemic-related travel complications made an onsite shoot impossible, so instead, we interviewed athletes remotely. Not trying to hide the fact the we screen-recorded, these interviews, combined with photos, newspaper clippings, and keepsakes provided by the runners and their families, gave the series a personal, intimate touch.
